EAG Pub Summit will be ‘the most important yet’ states Peter Davies

The EAG Pub Summit organised by Bacta, is on course to confirm its status as one of the most influential cross-sector forums bringing the industry supply-chain and PubCo representatives together at a single  event.
Peter Davies Inspired Entertainment Managing Director Leisure, and Chair of Bacta’s Gaming Council said: “The Summit is one of the key opportunities of the year to bring suppliers/operators together with the on-trade. It has grown in popularity year-on-year and 2025 is poised to be the most important yet given that we have a new government in place and the absolute need for clarity regarding the progress and status of the previous government’s white paper.”

He added: “With the costs of running a business set to rise further as a result of the Autumn budget the income from gaming machines and pay to play entertainment products including Juke Boxes and Pool equipment is more crucial than ever.

“Understanding the latest market trends is crucial for all machine suppliers and pub operators and the Summit will provide a great opportunity to discuss these and many other key business issues.”

Describing the EAG Pub Summit as an invaluable opportunity to debate the challenges and solutions impacting the sector Matt Bicknell, Managing Director Regal Gaming Technologies said: “There is a growing recognition of how vitally important machine income is to the viability of many thousands of pubs throughout the country.

“We are standing shoulder to shoulder with our PubCo customers and over the last two years have deployed over £40m of capex into the sector. In order to maintain our support and help maximise customers’ machine income we will continue to invest in innovation at the same rate through 2025. Pubs are an essential part of British culture and the low stake gaming entertainment industry can make an important contribution to their future viability.

“As well as continuing our investment program we will be steadfastly supporting Bacta’s lobbying for the swiftest possible introduction of the white paper, and a review of stake and prize levels. I believe that the industry can work productively alongside colleagues from the on-trade to achieve these core objectives and the Pub Summit is an important part of that collaborative process.”

The status of the Pub Summit as a must attend part of the EAG Experience, Nick Rudd Managing Director of the Rudd Group added: “The Pub Summit is a highlight of EAG for us. This unique gathering creates an unparalleled opportunity to have meaningful, face-to-face conversations with key decision-makers and industry leaders, all focused on addressing the challenges and opportunities facing the sector.

What makes the Pub Summit so important is its collaborative nature. With so many influential voices in the same space, it allows us to collectively discuss and decide on the best approach to emerging products, technologies, and regulations. Whether it’s understanding the implications of new legislation, strategizing around the latest consumer trends, or evaluating innovative products, the Summit fosters a united effort to shape the future of the on-trade industry.

For us, it’s not just about listening to insights—it’s about contributing to the dialogue and building partnerships that can drive real change.”

The EAG Pub Summit organised by Bacta will take place at 1pm on Tuesday 14th January.

Visitors to EAG will have access to the very latest product launches and innovations in out of home entertainment, be able to share insights and experiences with industry colleagues, update on the latest industry developments courtesy of the Bacta Seminar program and learn more about the latest developments in social responsibility on the Bacta Safer Gambling Hub.
