Work has officially started on a £29 million leisure development in Preston that will bring a new Hollywood Bowl and amusement arcade to the city. The project, located at the Animate leisure complex on the site of the old indoor market, marks a significant investment in Preston’s entertainment scene.
The new Hollywood Bowl centre will offer a 16-lane bowling alley, modern arcade games, and a spacious diner and bar area. The facility is set to provide a vibrant space for families, friends, and visitors to enjoy a range of leisure activities.
This development is part of a broader effort to rejuvenate the city centre, with the Animate complex expected to feature cinemas, restaurants, and public spaces. The leisure hub is designed to draw more visitors to Preston, boost the local economy, and create numerous job opportunities.
Cllr Peter Kelly, Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure, expressed excitement over the project, highlighting its potential to make Preston a leading leisure destination in the region.
The Hollywood Bowl centre and amusement arcade are expected to be completed and open to the public by 2025.
