Celebrating 30 years working together!

This month Instance Automatics celebrate 30 years of working with Janet and John Kiddie Rides! In this day and age, it is a testament to both companies that they are still thriving and still have a strong working relationship with each other.

Janet and John originally started by operating Kiddie Rides over 37 years ago when John Turner identified that the family entertainment sector could be introduced to the high street and that children’s rides could add to the customer experience. It became a family run company and kiddie rides were its focus for many years.

Ian Eason, Managing Director of Instance Automatics, first started working with Janet and John Kiddie Rides in June 1994 when Janet and John were installing children’s rides and vending machines throughout the North East to Shopping Centres, Garden Centres, Play Centres and Leisure Centres.

Ian at this time was developing a number of grabber cranes and prize every time vending cranes. Along with his wife Tina, who worked with him in the family business, they formed a strong friendship with John and Janet. Their relationship has thrived over the last 30 years, often working and helping each other out on projects.

Ian reflected, ‘both of our businesses are family run, we have both worked hard for over 30 years to grow our product ranges, services and customer base, diversifying as we needed to. Janet and John initially only provided kiddie rides and Instance Automatics only manufactured and sold cranes, but we both had to expand into other markets along the way. We help each other out; following Covid we added a Nayax to our Prize Every Time crane for them which was one of the main machines that Janet and John installed. A few years back, they allowed us to take over the Tomy distribution which they originally held. It is a two-way street. We are proud at Instance Automatics to have worked with Janet and John Kiddie Rides for three decades... and long may it continue.
