Gaming and Betting Council Seeks New Chief Executive

The Gaming and Betting Council has placed a vacancy advertisement on its website for a new Chief Executive.

    The notice reads:

    Vacancy - Chief Executive

As the Betting and Gaming Council enters its fifth year, we are seeking our next Chief Executive who can lead and inspire the industry, and further build trust and confidence in the UK gambling sector; both within the industry itself and with external stakeholders.

The Betting and Gaming Council (BGC)

Established in 2019, the BGC puts the customer first to drive standards over and above regulatory requirements to ensure a safer, fairer betting and gaming experience for all.

As the standards body for the regulated UK betting and gaming industry - excluding the National Lottery - we represent betting shops, casinos, and online betting, bingo and gaming. We work with our members, large and small, to drive high ethical standards, create a culture of safer betting and gaming, and build public and institutional trust in our world class industry.

Betting and gaming is a key part of the UK’s dynamic and diverse leisure and entertainment industry. BGC members support 110,000 jobs, generate £4.2 billion in taxes, and contribute £7.1 billion to the economy in GVA (Gross Value Added).

    The Role

The Chief Executive must be able to quickly grasp the commercial and regulatory challenges facing the gambling industry. We require an individual who can act as an effective advocate for the industry at the most senior levels, build and maintain strong trusted relationships, influence the political and media debate, and work with a wide range of stakeholders.

Working with and reporting to the Executive Chairman, the Chief Executive is the key role in shaping the future of the organisation and will be responsible for building and developing the team in their vision.
